Biography

Voice actor, extreme heavy metal vocalist and overall vocal artist of many kinds, James McClellan Dorton is a man of a million voices – both human and otherwise.
As for video games, James voiced several characters in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Knights of the Nine: Revelation, performed an original song in the upcoming, cross-platform first person shooter Metal Hellsinger (Funcom, The Outsiders), and, perhaps most notably, contributed his vocal stylings to id Software/Bethesda Softworks’ FPS Doom Eternal. James studied voice over at Mike Lemon Casting in Philadelphia.

James is also known as the frontman and founding member of Black Crown Initiate, a progressive extreme metal band, formed in 2011, and has toured and performed with the band in North America and Europe many times since they were signed to eOne Records in 2012. They are now signed to Century Media Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music, and their critically acclaimed 2020 release, Violent Portraits of Doomed Escape, can be found here. Since then, James has also joined the dark metal opera DiAmorte: The Red Opera (as featured here in Forbes ) as the character Dorian, which raised over $160,000 for its correlating Dungeons and Dragons campaign on Kickstarter, as well as tech-metal Boston-based band Replacire.
